BONDED ABRASIVES

Bonded abrasive are mixed together in dry and liquid form to a specification, or recipe, and then molded, pressed, fired and finished.  The primary ingredients are abrasive grain and a bonding agent; with a variety of additives to impact hardness and friability.  The mixture can be made into wheels, flat disks, cylinders, cups or cones.  The grain type, grit sizes, bonding agents, additives and dimensional configurations are as varied as coated abrasives.
